"As an avid club player still competing successfully with guys half my age, I’ve had several tennis-related injuries handled compassionately and quite effectively by Dr. Schwartz, from my elbow to my lower back to chronic knee conditions affecting both of my knees including torn meniscus and arthritis, among other over-use issues.

One excellent feature of Dr. Schwartz’s care is his commitment to skillfully take the time and care to go all out and devise treatments plans that have consistently gotten me back onto the tennis court through stretching, icing, strengthening the areas, nutrition and other non-invasive approaches. I’ve found him to be consistently engaged and his guidance to be thoughtful, comprehensive and effective.  I owe a lot to the TennisDoc for keeping me on the court, enjoying the game I have loved for my entire life!"

"I went to Dr. Schwartz for shoulder pain that was impeding my ability to play my beloved tennis, to drive, and to exercise without pain. He patiently and thoroughly examined me and worked with me to get me back to playing a sport I love. I now am able to play both singles and doubles for two very competitive tennis teams without shoulder pain!
This is thanks to Dr. Schwartz and the thoughtful time he gave me. I would highly recommend Dr. Schwartz to anyone looking to get back to serious athletics and who would like to be pain free!"

"I herniated a disc in my L4/L5 lumbar region and on advice by my chiropractor, I found Dr. L. Matthew Schwartz....After a thorough examination and implementation of a conservative care plan including proper dietary nutrition, a single epidural steroid injection, deep tissue massage therapy and physical therapy and supplemental care programs, Dr. Schwartz helped get me back on the tennis court.

He advised when it was appropriate to get back to physical activity, particularly for my active tennis hobby.  Being an active tennis player himself,  he understood the importance of not causing a potential for re-injuring my back by starting play too soon. I was back to playing a leisure form of tennis exactly 6 months after my injury and 3 months later, I'm now playing very actively without issues."

"I consulted the TennisDoc after having tightness, tenderness and pain in my right hip for 3-4 weeks.  This happened at a very inopportune time for me as I needed to play/practice quite a bit because my team had just won our local league and was advancing to the City Championships in 2 short weeks.  I just had to get better, and fast!

Dr. Schwartz really took his time to understand all of my symptoms and did a thorough examination and evaluation, taking my situation as seriously as I was. He diagnosed me with overuse syndrome, chronic strain of overly tight muscles, and dynamic imbalance.  He carefully demonstrated (so I would fully understand) and then advised me to stretch and massage the affected muscles twice per day.  Lastly, he advised me to increase the dosage of and take more regularly the OTC anti-inflammatory medication I was using.

I diligently followed Dr. Schwartz's instructions, and in 5 days, I was feeling better and able to hit in a trial return
warm-up session with no pain!  The next week I played all of my singles matches in the City Championship tournament and helped my team advance to Sectionals.

Dr. Schwartz, thanks so much for keeping me on the court and competing at higher and higher levels of play in this game I know we both love!  My captain thanks you too!  Onward to Nationals!"
